Myrtle Blackiston was the mother of Lester Blackiston.
Lester Blackiston (1931-2007), poet & cult personality was one of the co-owners of Coffee 'n Confusion and a Beat Poet, known in Richmond VA and East Coast among artists, writers & poets.
Lester was the epicenter of artistic literary activity in the late 1950s while living on Laurel Street near the Mosque, now the Altria Theater. Poems pinned 1959-1960.
